This is a traditional folk festival in Sihui City.
Zhenxian is a model for Chinese women to be "virtuous, honest, diligent, frugal, and respectful to their aunts". She is also one of the three goddesses popular among Lingnan folk. Since the Tang Dynasty, Sihui has retained the custom of holding the "Zhenxian Birthday" on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, which has a history of more than 1,000 years. Zhenxian's Birthday has also been included in the list of intangible cultural heritage protection projects in Guangdong Province.
Today, in addition to local villagers, the annual Zhenxian Festival is attended by believers from the Pearl River Delta, overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots. It has a broad public base and expresses the working people's prayers for a better life.
