Historical evolution


In the Ming Dynasty, it was Dawandu, Guangai Township, Gaoyao County.


At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was Dawandu, the third district of the second class.


In March of the 32nd year of the Republic of China (1943), one district and four townships were established; in October of the same year, it was merged with Baoping Township to form Dawan Township.


In 1953, Xiaoxiang Town merged with Huanggang and Mugang in Duanzhou District to form the third district of Gaoyao County (stationed in Dawan).
