Jianggu Town, under the jurisdiction of Sihui City, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, is located in the north-central part of Sihui City, and is connected to Xiamao Town and Didou Town in the north and south. After the Qin and Han Dynasties, it belonged to Sihui County. In the 13th year of Yuanjia in the Southern Song Dynasty (436), Huacheng County was established here, and later changed to Huamu County, which belonged to Suijian County. In July of the 34th year of the Republic of China (1945), Jianggu Township, which was originally under Guangning County, was transferred to Sihui County. In September 1958, Jianggu People's Commune (also known as the Fifth District People's Commune) was established. In 1961, Longjiang, Jianglin and Xiamao were separated to establish a separate people's commune. In August 1983, the commune was abolished and changed to a district. In March 1987, it was changed to a town. As of June 2020, Jianggu Town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 13 administrative villages.  The town government is located at No. 3 Shigang Temple, Jianggu Town, Sihui City.

Historical evolution


After the Qin and Han dynasties, it belonged to Sihui County.

In the 13th year of Yuanjia in the Southern Song Dynasty (436), Huacheng County was established here, and later changed to Huamu County, which belonged to Suijian County.

In the ninth year of Kaihuang in the Sui Dynasty (589), Huamu was incorporated into Sihui County.

In the fifth year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty (662), Huamu County was re-established.

In the thirteenth year of Zhenguan (639), it was incorporated into Sihui County.

In the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1559), it belonged to Dapu City, part of the area was incorporated into Guangning County, and another part of the area still belonged to Sihui County.

In the Qing Dynasty, it was Liupu.

At the beginning of the liberation of the People's Republic of China, it was Shangyuan Township and Qingyuan Township.

During the Republic of China, it was Qingyuan Township.

In July of the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1945), Jianggu Township, which was originally under Guangning County, was transferred to Sihui County.
