Recently, the main water diversion tunnel shaft of the reverse shaft project of the Langjiang Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhaoqing, Guangdong was successfully connected. It is the first deep and large shaft reverse shaft project in the hydropower industry with a depth of more than 450m and a maximum rock compressive strength of more than 200Mpa.

Guangdong Zhaoqing Langjiang Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Guangning County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. It is a key implementation project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" of the "Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021-2035)". It is also the first major technical equipment project in the national energy field and the first major technical demonstration and application project of variable-speed pumped storage units. Among them, the construction of the main water diversion shaft is one of the difficulties in the construction of the pumped storage power station. The diameter of the reverse shaft is 2.5m, the depth is 453m, and the maximum compressive strength of the rock stratum is more than 200MPa. The construction is difficult, the technology is complex, and the safety risk is high. Beijing Zhongmei adheres to the technical leadership in the implementation of the project, and uses the independently developed BMC600 reverse well drilling rig to complete the construction in one time, breaking the record of the depth and rock strength of the reverse well drilling rig in the hydropower industry. In the process of reverse well expansion, the "superhard rock roller" was used to give full play to the rock breaking efficiency of the reverse well drilling rig, with the maximum daily footage reaching 12m, ensuring the smooth progress of the construction.

The one-time expansion and well formation technology of the reverse well drilling rig is safe, economical, reliable and efficient. It has changed the traditional construction mode of using the reverse well drilling rig to drill a small well first and then brush the large wellbore from top to bottom in hydropower projects. It has a breakthrough and guiding significance for the promotion and application of the one-time forming construction technology of the reverse well drilling rig in the hydropower industry, and provides new technical ideas for the design and construction of the vertical shaft of the hydropower station.
