Historical evolution

Jingkou was named because its station was located at the exit of "Shirenjing".

In the early days of the founding of New China, it belonged to the second district of Sihui County.

In 1954, when Guangning and Sihui merged into one county, it was renamed the eleventh district.

Hydrology

The main water sources in Jingkou Town are the tributaries of Manshui River, the first-level tributaries of Longjiang River, reservoir water and groundwater. Among them, the tributary of Manshui River belongs to the Beijiang River system, flowing from east to west through Jingkou Town. The Shuijing Reservoir with a catchment area of ​​13.53 cubic kilometers and a total storage capacity of 14.7 million cubic meters is built upstream of the tributary to intercept floods flowing through the upstream of Caotang in Jingkou. After being intercepted by the Shuijing Reservoir, the tributary flows to Nanshan Town in Sanshui District and finally merges into the Manshui River; Longjiang River is a second-level tributary of Xijiang River and a first-level tributary of Suijiang River. It has two tributaries in Jingkou Town. One is Xia Liao River flowing from Yingtou Village in Jingkou Town to Longwan in Xiamao Town, Sihui City, and the other is Yuyun River flowing from Nanxiang Village in Jingkou Town to Longwan in Xiamao Town. The two tributaries merge into Longwan in Xiamao Town and then flow into Longjiang River; the town has 1 medium-sized reservoir, 1 small Type I reservoir, and 5 small Type II reservoirs. The groundwater type is mainly carbonate karst water, with a temperature of 18-25℃, a pH of 5-7, and a mineralization of less than 0.1 mg.
