The two leading companies, CATL and Xiaopeng Motors, have already laid out the low-altitude economy.

Zeng Yuqun, chairman of CATL, recently revealed that the company has successfully tested a 4-ton civil electric aircraft and an 8-ton aircraft, which are expected to be released between 2027 and 2028.

Xiaopeng Huitian, a subsidiary of Xiaopeng Motors, also announced that it will mass-produce flying cars.

In the past, the company mainly produced small aircraft for surveying and inspection. Since 2023, Lingfei Aviation has invested in the design and production of transport aircraft. The reporter saw an order to be delivered at the Lingfei Aviation production site: a small aircraft with a wingspan of 4.2 meters. The aircraft can carry up to 40 kilograms, its fuselage is made of carbon fiber, and the price of a single unit is 150,000 yuan. "The market is now on the rise, and we believe that it will soon usher in large-scale development." said Kong Ling, the head of the company.
