六祖慧能的思想，是人人平等的雏形。

但是六祖慧能走的路线跟神秀不同。神秀的路线是靠近官家，依靠官家力量推崇佛教教义。神秀的佛教教义解释权在自己，在官家。别人不能质疑。神秀定义了什么才是成功，什么才是成佛。只有按照神秀的说法去做，才能成功才能成佛。

六祖慧能走的路线是靠近群众，六祖藏匿四会怀集群众15年，依靠群众理解推崇佛教教义。六祖慧能的佛教教义解释权不在慧能自己，而在学员的各自理解。六祖慧能没有定义什么才是成功，什么才是成佛。只要你从佛教教义中获得一些人生智慧，只要努力，你达成了某种目的，你就成功了，你就成佛了。每个人对成功的定义，理解都不同。六祖慧能很早就看到了这一点。所以六祖慧能敢于改革佛教教义。

六祖慧能出来弘法14年后，武则天登基了。

武则天登基后，神秀是国师（提供思想哲学治国理论）。神秀一直向武则天推荐六祖慧能。想推荐六祖慧能跟武则天见面。

但是六祖慧能的理念是走群众路线，如果六祖慧能跟女皇帝（官府）见面，就变成了走官家路线。所以每次，六祖慧能都推脱说：自己年纪大了，不能远行。

六祖：想，只要我想做，我就能做。（唯心改变客观，只要我想就能做成功）

五祖：好！虽然你无文化不识字，但不要紧。我给讲讲金刚金的法门--佛法的传承不依靠文字，完全靠学员自己的理解，你要放下尘世，好好做你的CEO（应无所住而生其心）。

六祖：弟子知道。明白。

五祖：你打算未来怎么领导佛教？

六祖：我打算废除原来的教义（菩提本无树，明镜亦非台），改革原来的教义。我认为人人都可以成佛，人人都可以做成功的人（成功成佛就自己争取，不用向外求）。用新的教义去领导佛教的弟子，等弟子学完我的思想后，让那些弟子出去开宗开派，让我未来的弟子出去单干，出去干个体户。…………如果依靠我一个人去传教，肯定会累死我的。所以我要允许我的弟子出去弘法，去单干，去开宗创派。这样佛教就等于开了很多分公司。佛教就能壮大做大做强…………未来仲可以上市。

五祖：好好好。你赶快收拾东西，翻广东四会怀集。躲藏起来。等追杀你的人不在了。你就出来做生意。这个是证明你合法性的衣钵（公章和营业执照），你拿好。

五祖弘忍追问慧能：上次你说岭南广东的豆腐脑是甜的（佛法有不同的说法）。我还真的没有吃过。到底是怎么样的？

慧能：在湖北，你们的豆腐脑是咸的辣的。这是你对豆腐脑（佛法）的理解。其实在我们广东，豆腐脑（佛法）是甜品，倘若你想豪一D，还可以加点红豆加点牛奶适合消费者（佛教可以改革得更适合唐朝的群众理解和需要）

五祖弘忍：不错不错。

六祖慧能：大师兄神秀话豆腐脑（佛法）只能是咸的，豆腐脑（佛法）不能改变做法和口味，我肯定不同意。唔尝试一下创新又点赢得消费者的购买（捐香油）？？

最后神秀年老90岁的时候也开悟了：原来豆腐脑是可以甜的（佛教教义是可以改革的）

一切佛法，自心本有; 将心外求，舍父逃走。---要成佛，靠自己就可以。要成功，靠自己就可以。只要自己想成功，就能成功。

理解六祖慧能的思想，不能脱离当时的历史环境。

神秀的思想：要勤拂拭，要艰苦修行，才能成为成功的人（佛、皇帝、统领）。神秀的思想，是一种规定了路径路线的模式，是一个限制了过程的死规定，你要成功，你必须按照我说的这么做。

慧能的思想：你本来就有做成功的人的资格，只要你努力，你就能成为成功的人（佛、皇帝、统领）。慧能的思想，没有限制你选择路线路径的模式，只要你想成功，只要你努力，就就可以成功。六祖慧能也不定义什么叫成佛，什么叫成功。每个人成功成佛的情况都不同。白猫黑猫，抓到老鼠就是好猫。只要你成功了，就就成佛了。六祖在佛教的教义上，做出了很大的修改和改革。这也是五祖弘忍选择慧能的根本原因。——改革以贴近唐代国情。

神秀的传教方向设想：向官家靠近，佛教成为官家的工具，帮助官家愚弄奴隶。佛法不能变更，要沿用原来的佛教教义，解释权在神秀自己。佛教只有一家，别无分号。

慧能的传教方向设想：向群众传扬佛法，扩大佛教受众群体，改革佛教教义，让更多的人可以凭自己的理解出来传播佛教，慧能不再垄断佛教教义的解释权。每一个学了佛学的人，都可以自己出来传教，都可以自己出来做个体户，都可以出来以自己的理解开创自己的宗派，所以，六祖之后，佛教总部开放加盟了，所以佛教就遍地开花了。

为什么武则天立无字碑？ ——任由后人评说。

为什么六祖慧能不立文字？——六祖，改革了佛教的教义，任由信众学员自己的理解所得，去传播佛教。让学有所得的很多人，都可以自由去传教。传播的效率呈现几何级数攀升。

六祖慧能不留文字，正是给予了这种加盟模式的极大的自由度。学员按照自己对佛教的理解，自由去传播。如果立了文字，传播的速度会减慢，范围会缩小。这就是六祖慧能不立文字的原因。跟六祖学习了的学员，都可以出来单干开宗创宗。

六祖慧能不立文字，也因为六祖不识字。后面的《六祖坛经》不是六祖写的，是六祖的弟子整理出来的。

六祖慧能的设想是把一个小公司（佛教），直接变成了自由加盟的连锁企业（多个宗派的）。

作为前CEO五祖弘忍，看见六祖有这样的设想计划，当然选择你做未来的CEO。慧能的改革佛教：可以大大降低了传播的难度（面向更多底层劳动人民），降低了信徒成佛（成功人士）的的难度，开放了加盟，学习了的人可以出来单干（极大刺激了学员的积极性）。

五祖弘忍选择神秀还是选择慧能。不是基于对佛教的理解和参悟做出决定。

而是基于谁可以把佛教发展壮大，作为决策的原因。

历史证明，五祖弘忍没有选错人。历史的事实，的确如我说的一样，六祖领导佛教后，六祖的弟子开创了很多宗派，开了很多加盟店，各自的宗派都凭借自己对佛教的理解，自己出来单干。

这就是六祖慧能不留文字的根本原因。不用立文字，凭学员的各自理解去传播佛教。
