Sihui City Dongcheng Subdistrict is located in the southeast of Sihui City, 68 kilometers east of Guangzhou and 45 kilometers west of Zhaoqing. It is adjacent to the Zhaoqing National High-tech Development Zone and is the political, economic and cultural center of Sihui City. The total area of the region is 84 square kilometers, with 13 communities, 4 administrative villages, 120 natural villages, and 166 villager groups under its jurisdiction. As of the end of June 2021, the total permanent population in the jurisdiction is 122,800, and the registered population is 80,600. Guanghe Expressway, Jiangzhao Expressway, Zhaohua Expressway, and Provincial Highway 263 pass through the area, and the Sihui East G94 Pearl River Delta Ring Expressway exits at Sihui, making the transportation very convenient. In 2004, Dongcheng Street was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission as a professional jade processing town in Guangdong Province.

It is one of the four major jade processing markets in Guangdong. Although Sihui does not produce jade, the people of Sihui have made "jades from other mountains become utensils in Sihui", forming a complete industrial system integrating production, supply, sales and service, and actively moving towards "high, cutting-edge, precise and sophisticated". Developing in the direction of "all", it has become the largest jade and jade processing and sales distribution center in the country and the largest jade and jade wholesale market in Guangdong. Nearly 10,000 tons of jade are processed annually. Jade pendants and accessories account for 70% of the domestic market share. More than %, jade ornaments account for more than 80% of the domestic market share, with an annual output value of about 30 billion yuan and annual sales of more than 25 billion yuan. Jade products sell well all over the country and are exported to Eastern Europe, Southeast Asian countries, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
