On August 20, 2024, Zhaoqing New District Investment Development Group Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Zhaoqing New District TOD Urban Complex Project, officially starting the construction of the project, which is expected to be completed and put into use in July 2026.
The project is located at the intersection of Yanyang Avenue and Dongjin Avenue in Zhaoqing New District, adjacent to Zhaoqing Hospital, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. It will be comprehensively developed in the TOD ("public transportation-oriented") mode, focusing on the commercial needs of surrounding hospitals and residents, to create a modern public transportation hub, commercial center and life center.

After the project is completed, it is planned to implant economic formats such as supermarkets, medical supplies, confinement centers, restaurants, hotels, etc. supporting the hospital, providing efficient and high-quality public transportation and commercial supporting services for people who come for medical treatment or the surrounding areas.
The total planned investment of the project is about 350 million yuan, with a land area of about 8,000 square meters and a total construction area of about 43,000 square meters. The construction content includes commercial podiums, confinement centers, hotels, bus terminals, two-story basements and other supporting facilities.
