2024 Zhaoqing Cross-border E-commerce High-quality Development Summit was successfully held

On August 27, 2024, the 2024 Zhaoqing Cross-border E-commerce High-quality Development Summit was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Duanzhou, Zhaoqing, under the guidance of the Zhaoqing Commerce Bureau, hosted by the Zhaoqing Online Merchants Association, and co-organized by the Alibaba International Station (Zhaoqing) Service Center and Zhaoqing Jiashidai Network Technology Co., Ltd. Nearly 160 domestic and foreign trade enterprises in the hardware, home furnishing, building materials, food processing equipment and other industries in our city, as well as representatives of relevant industry associations, participated in the event.

At this summit, the Zhaoqing Internet Merchants Association, together with Alibaba International Station (Zhaoqing) Service Center, Zhaoqing Jiashidai Network Technology Co., Ltd. and other forces, invited a number of senior experts in the cross-border e-commerce industry to discuss the latest trends, challenges and opportunities of cross-border e-commerce around the theme of "Supporting the 'Hundreds of Millions of Projects', e-commerce broadens the way to go overseas", and to share successful experiences and innovative practices to promote the transformation of domestic trade enterprises to export and the quality upgrade of foreign trade enterprises, and jointly explore a new chapter of high-quality development of Zhaoqing cross-border e-commerce.

General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to cultivating new momentum for foreign trade and emphasizes the need to accelerate the development of new formats and models of cross-border e-commerce. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee proposed that we should innovate and develop digital trade and promote the construction of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones. Cross-border e-commerce is an important force for change in international trade and a concrete manifestation of the development of new quality productivity in the trade field. It has driven the rapid development of manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, and related trade industries, providing important opportunities for economic development and injecting important momentum.
At present, our city is promoting the "Hundreds and Millions Project" with high quality, actively developing the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" model, and opening up a "new track" for cross-border e-commerce to help county-level industries improve their quality and development. By continuously optimizing the business environment, attracting and nurturing well-known platform companies, and building a resource docking platform, we are committed to promoting the efficient docking between leading companies in the cross-border e-commerce field and local manufacturing companies, providing precise services from multiple dimensions such as business opportunity expansion, brand building and talent cultivation, and fully promoting the deep integration of cross-border e-commerce and industrial belts, promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of industrial belts, helping companies to establish Zhaohao goods brands in overseas markets, and establishing a good international image for Zhaoqing companies. In the four years from 2020 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of the city's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume was nearly 70%, and the proportion of total foreign trade import and export volume increased from 1.5% to 7.72%, which is higher than the national average.

Zhaoqing Municipal Bureau of Commerce will take this summit as an opportunity to continue to deepen the construction of the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone and deepen and implement the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" model. Give full play to the service and guidance role of industry organizations and associations, continue to hold cross-border e-commerce resource docking and other related activities, guide enterprises to continuously innovate business models, cultivate their own new competitive advantages, widely apply new technologies and new tools, guide production through big data analysis, improve product quality, and enhance international competitiveness. Further improve the level of supporting services for cross-border e-commerce, cultivate and expand characteristic and advantageous industrial clusters, empower the "Hundreds of Millions of Projects" with cross-border e-commerce, and promote the high-quality development of the city's foreign trade.
