The workers were installing HVAC and refrigeration and slaughtering line equipment non-stop, perfecting the finishing stage of various projects, and preparing for the entry of subsequent large-scale machinery and equipment.
The project base integrates slaughtering and deep processing. It uses the original slaughtering line, cold storage and processing workshop of the vegetable basket distribution center to build a pigeon slaughtering primary processing production line and a pigeon deep processing cooked food workshop. The primary processing mainly realizes the sorting, cleaning and freezing of pigeons, and the deep processing produces pigeon pre-prepared dishes.
The person in charge of the base said that the project is mainly divided into two functional sections, namely pigeon slaughtering and deep processing. At present, the construction progress of the slaughtering project has reached 70%, and the deep processing has completed 90% of the project progress, and the project is about to be put into production.
At the same time, the vegetable basket company is developing products simultaneously on the basis of the construction of the production line, and has developed 6 pigeon pre-prepared dishes such as crispy pigeon, salt-baked pigeon, pepper pigeon, tea oil pigeon, original pigeon soup, and selenium-rich wolfberry soup.

After the project is put into production, the daily slaughter capacity can reach 30,000 pigeons, and the daily deep processing capacity can reach 10 tons, which will drive employment of about 80 people.
The progress of the deep processing project of meat pigeons is a microcosm of Guangning County's promotion of the development of the meat pigeon industry. Since the beginning of this year, the planning and layout of Guangning County's meat pigeon industry has been reasonable, and it has gradually formed a full industrial chain development model integrating modern scale breeding, feed production, deep processing, warehousing and logistics, brand sales, and agricultural tourism integration. In 2023, Guangning County's meat pigeons will be 3.556 million pigeons per year, with a total output value of 640 million yuan. The first, second and third industries of Guangning's meat pigeon industry are constantly integrating and developing.
Primary industry: Transformation to modern industry
In recent years, the enthusiasm of Guangning County's meat pigeon breeding enterprises and farmers to breed meat pigeons has continued to increase. The county's meat pigeon production has gradually developed towards scale and base, and traditional meat pigeon breeding has gradually transformed into a modern industry, becoming a new growth point for the city's livestock and poultry industry.
Guangning County is building ten major pigeon breeding bases. The construction site of Zhouzai pigeon base is Cangfeng Village, Zhouzai Town. It will be put into operation in December 2023, and the total construction area is about 16.09 acres. At present, the base has five pigeon sheds and one flying shed. Sheds 2 and 5 have been put into production, and 15,000 pairs of breeding pigeons have been introduced, and some breeding pigeons have hatched pigeons.
The construction site of Hengshan pigeon base is Luowei Village, Hengshan Town, covering an area of 11.94 acres. Two standardized pigeon breeding greenhouses are built, with an area of about 8,000 square meters, equipped with two sets of special breeding pens for pigeons, and corresponding supporting automated feeding, watering and feces cleaning equipment, temperature and humidity adjustment equipment, etc. Each standardized pigeon breeding greenhouse can introduce 2,880 pairs of breeding pigeons.
Secondary industry: modern facilities are widely used
Xinlinghang Company has built about 80 intensive modern breeding greenhouses for pigeons, with a full shed rate of 80%. The company has a processing plant that slaughters 60,000 pigeons per day.
In 2020, based on the existing scale, the company will continue to expand its scale by relying on the pigeon industrial park and taking the processing and circulation needs of agricultural products in the county as the premise, and invest 300 million yuan to build the Guangning County Agricultural Products Deep Processing and Circulation Aggregation Industrial Park Project. At present, about 180 million yuan has been invested, and the exterior wall decoration of the office building, auxiliary rooms, workshop 1 and workshop 2 has been completed. The interior wall painting of workshops 1 and 2 has been basically completed, and fire protection facilities are being installed.
Three industries: continuous integration and development of the entire industrial chain
In recent years, Guangning County has introduced the Zhaoqing distribution center of the "vegetable basket" products of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through investment promotion, and built a comprehensive and modern full cold chain logistics park integrating food quick freezing, preservation, refrigeration, processing, cold chain transportation and other functions, opening up the "last mile" of production, supply and marketing channels, and successfully creating a new platform for the integration of the three industries of pigeons.
Guangning pigeon industry has been continuously integrated and developed. It is planned to build an exhibition and sales center in Guangning County Agricultural Products Deep Processing and Circulation Aggregation Industrial Park, with supporting digital information collection system and live broadcast room live broadcast and other forms to promote pigeon product processing and sales.
