China Sports Lottery·2024 Guangdong Youth Judo Championship kicks off in Sihui City today

On the morning of August 16, 2024, China Sports Lottery·2024 Guangdong Youth Judo Championship officially kicked off. 486 athletes from 18 teams across Guangdong Province gathered at Sihui Sports Center (Xian Dongmei Gymnasium) to jointly show the charm and style of judo.
Chen Xiao, Chief of the Training Section of Guangdong Heavy Athletics Training Center, Sun Tianhua, Deputy Director of the Youth Sports Department of Guangdong Social Sports and Training Competition Center, Xia Yanqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and First-level Researcher of Zhaoqing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Tourism and Sports, and Li Yifei, Deputy Mayor of Sihui Municipal Government, attended the opening ceremony. Athlete representatives and referee representatives solemnly swore at the opening ceremony, promising fair competition and strict compliance with the rules. Li Yifei, Deputy Mayor of Sihui Municipal Government, announced the official start of the competition.
Afterwards,the athletes competed in accordance with the regulations. They were skilled in using various offensive and defensive techniques such as wrestling, hugging, hooking, and pressing, showing a high level of competition and good sportsmanship in the competition.
It is understood that this competition has 14 events in Group A (5 for men, 8 for women, and 1 mixed event), 12 events in Group B (5 for men, 7 for women), and 6 events in Group C (3 for men, 3 for women), with a total of 32 events. On the 16th, a total of 13 weight classes were held. This event not only provides a platform for the representative teams from all cities and counties in Guangdong Province to compete, exchange ideas, and learn and improve in judo, but also tests the training level of the province's youth judo projects. I hope that every athlete can show their style and level in the competition and promote competitive sports to a higher level.

In recent years, the Sihui Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have thoroughly implemented the national strategy of national fitness, tapped the development potential of sports, and continuously accumulated rich experience in hosting national and provincial large-scale events. The judo brand has become famous and has become an emerging city responsible for building a "judo hometown" and a "sports city". Sihui has also actively explored new paths and new models for the integration of sports and education, based on the actual work of youth judo, and rationally arranged judo training projects to effectively promote the spread of Sihui judo culture. Up to now, Sihui has a total of 16 full-time judo teachers, 2 Guangdong provincial judo specialty schools, and 14 Sihui judo specialty schools.
