Before the Spring Festival this year, Unit 1 of the Zhaoqing Dinghu Natural Gas Cogeneration Project (Phase I) was officially connected to the grid and put into operation. It can generate up to 480,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per hour, which can support the power consumption of more than 500,000 households for one hour.

After the Spring Festival, the project quickly resumed work and production. At present, the debugging work of Unit 2 of the power plant is being carried out in an orderly manner and is about to undergo a 168-hour full-load trial operation.

It is expected that the first phase of the project will be fully put into production on May 1, 2024.

Provide electricity and heat support for industrial development

Zhaoqing Dinghu Natural Gas Cogeneration Project (Phase I) is located in Lingang Industrial Park, Zhaoqing New District. The project investment is approximately 3 billion yuan. After the entire project is put into operation, the annual power generation is expected to reach 2.9 billion kilowatt hours, which will provide strong support for Zhaoqing's regional power grid. .

At the same time, the project can also provide stable heating support of 500 tons per hour to enterprises within a radius of 10 kilometers, basically covering major industrial parks in Zhaoqing New District and Dinghu District, greatly replacing scattered small boilers, reducing coal consumption and atmospheric pollutant emission.

At the same time, with this project as the leader, it can also attract a large number of food and pharmaceutical companies that require thermal energy to settle in the two districts, drive the flow of people, logistics and infrastructure construction in the park, and promote the construction and development of the industrial park.

Zhu Jun, deputy general manager of Guangdong Yudean Yongan Natural Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd., the project management and operation company, said that currently, 131 employees of Yudean Yongan Company have been on duty, and 175 people from participating units have been on duty. The civil construction of the project has entered the finalization and shortage elimination stage. It mainly carries out the de-industrialization construction of waste heat boilers and the paving of asphalt pavement in the factory area.

It is understood that the project uses natural gas as fuel and uses a gas-steam cycle to generate electricity. It is Zhaoqing's largest clean energy power generation project with currently installed capacity.

After natural gas is burned in a gas turbine to generate electricity, the high-temperature exhaust gas will enter the boiler for secondary processing and utilization. The water vapor generated during the process will drive the steam turbine for secondary power generation. The overall power generation efficiency is nearly twice that of traditional coal power generation.

In terms of environmental protection, the project's carbon dioxide emissions are only one-third of coal power generation, while emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide are far below the highest international standards.

Especially for the emission of nitrogen oxides, the project has achieved less than 30 mg per cubic meter, which is far lower than the international standard of no more than 60 mg per cubic meter. The energy saving and emission reduction efficiency is significant, which will help achieve the "double carbon" goal and promote Guangdong. The reduction and substitution of coal in the Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the adjustment of our province’s energy structure are of positive significance.
