On June 15, the "Xuyuan Sheng Cup" 18th National Wushu Township Wushu Routine Competition (Open Tournament) hosted by the Wushu Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, the Chinese Wushu Association, the Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, the Zhengzhou Sports Bureau, and the Dengfeng Municipal People's Government opened at the Junmei Gymnasium in Dengfeng City.

All referees and more than 2,000 participants from 92 national martial arts township teams attended the opening ceremony. Wushu elements run through the entire performance. Waist drums, Tai Chi, singing and dancing, dragon and lion dances and other performance teams staged wonderful scenes to the beat of music. More than a thousand teachers and students from Epo Wushu School performed cultural and sports performances. They used a wonderful performance rich in martial arts elements to show Dengfeng's enthusiasm, youthful style, and the vitality of martial arts.

After the opening ceremony, the three-day competition immediately started a fierce competition. On the field, the southern fist and northern leg competed, the axe, the hook and the fork fought, and the athletes' every move showed the charm of Chinese martial arts.

Deng Jiacheng, the first gold medal winner of the Guangning team, is 67 years old this year and is the oldest athlete of the Guangning team participating in this competition. He started practicing martial arts at the age of 5 and has persisted in practicing martial arts for decades. In this competition, Deng Jiacheng won the gold medal in the men's senior group in the southern stick.

Deng Jiacheng said, "I am very happy to win the first gold medal for the Guangning team. I hope this gold medal can bring encouragement and good luck to the team and achieve better results. Next, we will prepare for the 18th National Wushu Hometown Competition (Elite Competition) held in Guangning in December."

After a day of fierce competition, the 14 athletes of the Guangning team participated in the four events of Pu (big) sword, Tai Chi sword, southern stick, other single weapons-other sticks, and won 2 individual gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals.
