It is the second county (city, district) in Guangdong Province to be selected in the list of "CESI Top 100 Counties" after Boluo County, Huizhou.

In this regard, Nanfang Daily and Nanfang+ interviewed Chen Hongyu, professor of the Party School of Guangdong Provincial Committee. Why was Sihui selected? What factors contributed to its success? Professor Chen believes that the most prominent feature of Sihui is coordinated development. It is also a good opportunity to learn from the experience of county revitalization, analyze advanced models, and find problems and gaps. This is the significance of our study of Sihui.

Nanfang Daily, Nanfang+: Why do you think Sihui City, Zhaoqing, can be selected into the list of "CCID Top 100 Counties"? What are its advantages?

Chen Hongyu: Although Sihui's area, population, industry, and finance are medium-sized in Guangdong Province, for a long time, Sihui has been very pragmatic in all its work, attaching importance to laying the foundation, and moving forward step by step. According to the new development concept, comparing the comprehensive strength of counties, Sihui with balanced development has always been at the forefront of all counties in the province. Sihui's selection into the list of the top 100 counties in the country reflects that Sihui City has carefully understood the requirement of "coordination is both a goal and a means", and has closely focused on the word "coordination" to plan the comprehensive development of the county economy.

The first is the coordination of industrial structure. The development of the town area supports the overall development of the county area. Sihui was originally a large agricultural county. Over the past decade, Sihui has insisted on sinking its center of gravity, strengthening the team and team at the town level, fully delegating power, and encouraging each town and street to explore development paths that are adapted to local conditions and based on the local area. Chen Hongyu: At present, Sihui is taking high-quality development as its theme, adhering to problem-oriented approach, and promoting the transformation of various aspects of work. First, the transformation of industries. At present, the proportion of traditional industries in Sihui is still relatively large, and it is urgent to further enhance the scientific and technological content, so as to improve the market competitiveness of various industries. Second, the transformation of urban and rural planning and construction, including the improvement of urban and rural layout planning, land planning, and transportation planning. While further focusing on the construction of the county town, we should promote the planning and construction of the county, town, and village levels to a new level. Third, the transformation of basic public services. At present, Sihui's basic public services are still not comprehensive enough. There are still many deficiencies in the coverage and level of basic public services between urban and rural areas and between different household registrations, and there are still many shortcomings that need to be further made up.

Chen Hongyu: In the next step, Sihui can follow the example of the counties and districts in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Guangdong Province that are at the forefront of development, so that development can be more coordinated and of higher quality.

Specifically, first, we must continue to work hard to maintain the intensity of industrial investment. We must correctly judge the stage of Sihui's industrialization process. Sihui's industrialization has not entered a mature stage, but there is still a lot of room for development. Realizing the dominance of manufacturing is still the basic direction of Sihui's industrial optimization. We must continue to focus on introducing and developing new manufacturing industries, and strive to promote industrial investment and market investment to a new level. This is an important prerequisite for Sihui's industrial development to continue to maintain its stamina.
